Honestly, things got pushed off for a week for the best of reasons. When our family arrived last Friday, I knew there would be days I'd be spending with them, but it got even better.
Our cousin flew up unexpectedly and brought her little girl, and while we were missing her husband, we were able to spend time with even more of our expanded family that I personally haven't seen since long before the pandemic.
It was wonderful to spend time with everyone and catch up on news and get to know the youngest member of that part of the family.
Of course catching up on one part of life often means falling behind in another, but I'm not sorry. I wouldn't give up those days for anything. They left today, and I look forward to the next time we see them again. In the meantime, it's back to finishing the draft of Dylan, finding the perfect cover model, and finally discovering if I'm even remotely capable of tiktok.
We shall see.
