I really liked this first book in this series. The heroine is strong, brave, and ready to save herself. The story-telling and world-building is really good, and I love the way those worlds are presented.
The romance in this is good, and if you're looking for a great world, you really should be reading this. I immediately went on to read all the books out, and it was totally worth it.
