Burning The Candle Wicks

For those of you who don't know, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) isn't restricted to just November. There are two camps that occur every year, and April is one of those camps. So, I am on an adventure. During which, I will have one end of my candle burning on drafting more than one story, and the other end will be burning running the business and trying to keep life going.

I know there's a fine balance between work and life, but I'm excited about this year. I have so many stories to tell, and I worry I about getting them all out. However, education and research have led me to tools I believe will help speed me up my work. I believe that I will be able to deliver stories faster and with less stress.

Which means I'll be able to burn

both ends of the candle without

burning my fingers.

That isn't the only thing going on. I finished the final edits on Love & Devotion, and hopefully, I'll have all three books posted on all major platforms within the next week or two. We won't discuss the glitches with IngramSparks that's kept Pain & Redemption from launching properly. It's been just a little bit of a hassle, but ultimately worth it.

Good times.

To keep my energy up, I'm spending as little time as possible on social media. I'm doing this not because I don't like talking to people, but because the negativity on many of the platforms, impacts my ability to write.

I've learned the more time I spend on social media the less able I am to focus on the stories I want to write. I'm not easily able to switch away from the ugliness of the world outside or the drama and cruelty being displayed by people online. It has very real impact on me.

So I'm going to spend as much time as I can in my reader group and with my writing group, and otherwise, focus on my family.

I apologize if that makes you feel like I'm unavailable or I don't care, but if I want to publish quickly, I won't be able to interact the way some other authors do, in order to complete the books as fast as most people and I want. My focus needs to be on writing without distractions or negativity.

I hope everybody understands, and I hope everybody has a wonderful month.

If you want to find me, contact me in my reader group, or on my pages, where I'll be burning the candle at both ends, joyfully writing my book and taking care of my family.
